Mayos in Ministry

Our family is transitioning from Florida to Pennsylvania and we would love for you to share in our journey as we enter into full-time urban missions.

We are a couple that has been married for 20 years.

We are a family with three sons that have lived in Florida for 15 years.

We have been serving in Christian education for over 20 years.

Now God is moving us to minister in the city of Coatesville, Pennsylvania.

My most recent role has been serving as a Calvary Chapel Ft. Lauderdale Pastor and the Director of Discipleship for Calvary Christian Academy, but the last few years of prayer have revealed God’s next steps for us. We will be entering full-time ministry with County Corrections Gospel Mission (CCGM) and I will serve as a critical care pastor serving the city of Coatesville and the greater Philadelphia area. CCGM has been in existence for over 30 years serving families in crisis, those who are incarcerated, and working with law enforcement to support, minister, and train.

Why CCGM?

Jack Crans is the head and founder of CCGM. He has pastored churches in the area, serves as a chaplain and helps families in Coatesville through CCGM. My mother was a single mom in the city and Jack and his wife Sue came close to her during many years while she raised my siblings and me on her own. He supported us in many ways and was a visible example of a godly husband and father. Through Jack Crans, I met my wife Morgan. We began dating in 1998 after serving together as counselors at The Camp at Old Mill, a camp owned by CCGM to serve the city of Coatesville. Personal ties like this are why the ministry holds a special place in our hearts.

Why Coatesville?

We will be going to an area that is known to our family. Coatesville, PA is where I spent many years of my childhood, and it is close to where my wife grew up as well. While there is a familiarity with needs in this area, new changes and new needs have arisen. The crime and incarceration rate for males has always been high, and there are many families in need of the gospel and the stability that comes with a stable church home. An exciting, recent development is the launch of Providence Church Coatesville, a church plant in the heart of the city. We will be partnering with Providence Coatesville in our ministry.

Looking to Partner With Us?

As we embark on this journey, we ask that you pray for our family. It will be a bittersweet transition for sure, full of many goodbyes and hellos – goodbyes to friends, places, memories, our home church and hellos to a familiar area, old friends and relationships that will be renewed, and a new purpose in ministry.

We are praying and raising support as we hope to be fully supported urban missionaries by June of 2023. We realize this is a big step, but where God leads He resources, and there is no better place to be than in His service.

Ministering and anchoring our family at Calvary has been a blessing we have had for years that words cannot describe. Our time there has equipped us for this very moment. We are excited for what is ahead and look forward to updating you monthly on how God is moving in Coatesville. Thank you for following our journey and keeping the Mayo’s in your prayers!

You have sown and will continue to sow. Great harvests will surely spring up as you do not labor in vain. May the Lord go before you and intercede in every way--for every need.

You will be missed but the joy that is sure to come from this departure outweighs the sorrow.

Oh, and have a lot of fun. We look forward to hearing about the miracles at work.
